Exmouth is your gateway to remote rivers and amazing marine scenery, and with its weather staying consistently warm throughout the year, what are you waiting for?

How far is Exmouth from Perth?

Why not make a longer road-trip of your journey to Perth? Get your car hire in Perth and start your WA driving holiday by heading north along Western Australia’s beautiful coastline. Over 1200km later, you will reach the small resort town of Exmouth on the North West Cape.

The entire driving journey from Perth to Exmouth will take more than 12 hours, so be sure to make plenty of stops along the way, and spend the night at beautiful coastal towns like Geraldton and Coral Bay. Head north on National Route 1 to reach Exmouth.

Explore one of the world’s most accessible marine wonders

Ninagloo Reef is the perfect destination for snorkelers. The reef is easily accessible just off the coastline, encompassing more than 5000 square kilometres of ocean. See stunning coral and an array of colourful fish.

If you are feeling adventurous, head out to swim with the whale sharks. Although these creatures can look intimidating, they are actually harmless to people. Tours operate from March to September each year, but April to July is the peak time for swimming with the large mammals. As the largest fish species in the world, swimming with whale sharks is an unforgettable experience.

Whale sharks are not the only creatures you can see at Ningaloo, with a wide range of fish, turtles, dolphins and humpback whales. You can hire equipment from local shops if you would like to go diving or snorkelling. Stop in at the Exmouth Visitor Centre to get some advice from local experts.
