The new system – first announced in June 2022 – has been designed to reduce congestion on the forecourt and surrounding access roads, caused by motorists parking in the pick-up zone.
The Express system will continue to allow motorists to drop-off and pick-up passengers for free, provided they enter and exit the forecourt within six minutes.
The system will identify your vehicle as you enter and exit the main the forecourt area.
There is also helpful digital signage along the forecourt to identify free bays along the area.
The Express area will also prevent drivers from re-entering the area within 10 minutes of exiting.
If you need extra time - we will continue to offer 10 minutes free in ShortTerm and one-hour free in LongTerm Car Parks.
In addition to the forecourt works, Perth Airport has delivered the following within the precinct:
- An expanded Premium parking area with 216 additional undercover bays close to the terminals’ front doors.
- A new Premium car park entry and exit so there is no more unnecessary queuing.
- A new ShortTerm car park providing 533 bays accessed via Ross Drive.
- An undercover parking option for long term parkers which is a short walk to the terminals.
- An extended pick-up, drop-off area on the forecourt
- Dynamic signage directing drivers to available drop-off bays on the forecourt.
- Controlled pedestrian crossings on the forecourt, reducing the disruption to traffic flow.
