Skyfields to develop 17100sqm HQ for Pacific Energy under new agreement

04 November, 2025

Skyfields by Perth Airport has secured its largest industrial development to-date, a 17,100sqm facility that will be the new WA headquarters for renewable energy giant, Pacific Energy.

The pre-leased design-and-construct project is another vote of confidence in Skyfields’ vision for its precincts – with multiple projects currently under development across the 2,105 hectare Airport Estate.

The cutting-edge Pacific Energy facility is scheduled to begin construction in early 2026 and be completed in 2027, subject to development and building approvals.

“We’re really excited to be developing this new state-of-the-art facility in partnership with Skyfields, with the aim to consolidate over 30,000sqm of offices and facilities,” said Pacific Energy CEO Mike Hall.

“Pacific Energy has been operating one of the world’s largest stand-alone power system manufacturing facilities in the Perth Airport precinct since 2021. With the national demand for hybrid and renewable energy solutions growing exponentially in that time, we quickly outgrew our footprint.

“This new opportunity will support our existing customers and portfolio of assets, enable the ongoing growth of our product offering, and deliver a world-class office space for our ever-growing team.”

Located on a 3.57 hectare site, the innovative design features an 11,900sqm workshop with an ESFR fire system that allows the flexibility for it to also be used as a warehouse; an expansive 5,200sqm of office space; and two-level podium carpark. The high-truss workshop includes four overhead 40-tonne cranes with dual 20-tonne hoists, supporting Pacific Energy’s business growth as a leading provider of sustainable power solutions across Australia.

The project is expected to create 450 jobs during construction and accommodate up to 400 employees once operational.

“With more than 600 successfully managed leases already across the Estate, we are focused on growing our $1.5 billion property portfolio in a strategic and sustainable way which will benefit our current and future partners, and economic growth in Western Australia,” said Perth Airport’s Chief Property Officer, Dan Sweet.

“Skyfields’ five distinct precincts encompass a growing retail and lifestyle hub, office campus, booming logistics sector, industrial and commercial destinations, and aviation support.

“And with more than 250 hectares of developable land just 12km from the CBD, surrounded by growing residential suburbs and commercial hubs, there are significant opportunities to diversify and offer high-quality community amenities.”

Other major projects under development by Skyfields include:

  • Airport Central: The aviation precinct has a 240-room hotel on the way, the Pullman Perth Airport, connected to the international terminals.
  • Redcliffe Metro Town Centre: Construction has started on a new three-storey office building for the State’s rail infrastructure manager, Arc Infrastructure, while Dan Murphy’s recently opened next to Woolworths at Dunreath Village shopping centre.
  • Dunreath Green Lifestyle & Retail: This future destination for drawcard retailers and attractions will expand upon the established hub with Costco, DFO, and the town centre amenities.
  • Industrial Precinct: As well as the Pacific Energy project, Epiroc’s new training facility is under construction which will expand Epiroc’s campus to four adjoining buildings in the industrial precinct.
