Easter holiday travel surge
Perth Airport is expecting approximately 750,000 passengers to travel through its terminals over the next two-week school and Easter holiday period.
Perth Airport’s Chief Commercial and Aviation Officer Kate Holsgrove said that passengers should plan ahead, allow extra time when travelling to the terminals and be patient during the busy holiday period.
“We’ll be working with our airline partners, retailers and security contractors to ensure it’s a quick and stress-free experience, but with so much activity there may be some delays.
“So, if there are hold-ups or queues at check-in or at the important security screening points, please be patient – your safety is our highest priority, and we are working hard to ensure we you get you on your way as quickly as possible.
“We’ve also got significant construction works on the road network in and around T1 and T2 including some recent changes to the way passengers access Terminal 2.
“We understand that it may take some time for passengers to get used to the road network changes, but our team is working hard to ensure this impact is minimal, and we ask that all road users follow the signage and traffic management in the area.
“These changes form part of the major ground transport infrastructure upgrades currently occurring at Perth Airport, including the construction of a six-level multi storey car park and road network improvements.
"Our passenger numbers continue to grow and reflects the new services and increased capacity being introduced by our airline partners.
“New aviation connections are great news for Western Australians. To ensure we have the required capacity for this growth we’re investing across our airport, including new terminal facilities, a new runway and the new multi-storey car park facilities.
“These developments will improve efficiency and enhance the customer experience for our passengers.
“We are working hard to minimise construction impacts for our passengers; however, so we are asking passengers to be patient as we undertake these important works across our airport.
“We know that travelling can be stressful, but it is important to remember to be respectful to fellow travellers, airport, and airline staff while travelling through our airport,” said Ms Holsgrove.
