Qatar Airways celebrates 10th anniversary
Today marks 10 years since Qatar Airways commenced services between Perth and Doha.
Perth Airport CEO Kevin Brown said that during this time, Qatar Airways and Perth Airport had maintained a strong partnership.
“Over the past two years, this became even more apparent as Qatar Airways maintained its connectivity to Perth during the pandemic.
“Qatar Airways continued to operate services to Perth in order to bring Australians home and carry important export and import freight which was crucial to WA and its economy.
“These actions show the airline’s strong commitment to Western Australia.
The service gives passengers direct access to Doha and onto its global network of more than 160 business and leisure destinations globally.
“The service to Doha provides Western Australians more travel options with a world-class airline which took out the World’s Best Airline at the most recent Skytrax Awards in 2021.
“This is a fantastic milestone for Qatar Airways, and we look forward to working with the airline as we build on the relationship and provide greater connectivity between Perth - Doha.
“And now that our great Soccoroos will be thrilling fans at the World Cup in Qatar this November, what better time to book your ticket and get on in the action.
Qatar Airways launched its Perth – Doha service on 3 July 2012 with a Boeing 777-200 aircraft and currently operates a Boeing 777-300ER on the daily service.
“Perth Airport will continue to work with our airline partners and the State Government to increase services to Perth as international airline connectivity is crucial for the tourism, business, and education sectors recovery,” said Mr Brown.
