Non-stop flights between Perth - London taking off again
04 May, 2022
In great news for travellers, Qantas has today announced that the direct Perth to London service will recommence from 23 May.
For the two years following its launch in March 2018, Qantas’s non-stop service between Perth and London was one of the airline’s most popular and profitable routes.
Perth Airport CEO Kevin Brown said it was exciting to see the non-stop service to London back.
“This direct service will be convenient for those passengers heading to the UK and Europe and will help recover the UK tourism market for WA.
“When the Covid-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, international passenger numbers plummeted but we are looking forward to working constructively with Qantas as we rebuild the sector with the direct London service as well as the direct Rome service which commences in June.
“We also remain committed to working with all of our airline partners on the challenge of quickly rebuilding Western Australia’s connections to the world.”
“Perth is a safe, vibrant and welcoming city which has earned global recognition for managing the pandemic effectively. Travellers will be drawn to our city to enjoy everything it has to offer. We can then use Perth as the springboard for tourists to venture to our regions to experience our unique natural and cultural heritage.”
“Aviation recovery will stimulate growth in our $12 billion tourism industry which supports 100,000 jobs, our $2 billion international student sector supporting 10,000 jobs, and our exporters who rely on passenger flights for 83 per cent of all air freight exports.
“The State Government’s new Reconnect WA package is a significant program that will help rebuild aviation, tourism and international students.
