New United Petroleum petrol station to get airport really pumping

11 March, 2020
Worrying about running out of fuel will be a thing of the past for those travelling to and from Perth Airport’s Terminals 1 and 2 with a Service Station to be developed in the Airport Central precinct of the estate.

Perth Airport and United Petroleum have announced a state-of-the-art service station will be built on the corner of Airport Drive and Paltridge Road in the Airport Central Precinct, a short distance from Terminals 1 & 2.

The development will form the first stage of a Highway Service Centre with future stages to include additional Food & Beverage outlets in readiness for the move of all flight services to the Central Precinct by 2025.

The United Petroleum station will include a variety of food outlets, a convenience store, vehicle washing facilities, and an indoor and outdoor rest and fatigue facilities.

Perth Airport Chief Property Officer Steve Holden said the station’s iconic design follows two years of detailed collaboration with the United Group and its appointed architects, Peddle Thorp Architects Melbourne.

“The futuristic canopy design is defined by two unfolding “wings” interacting with and balancing each other and has been inspired by the notion of speed and sculpted automotive engineering,” Mr Holden said.

“With Terminals 3 & 4 scheduled to be relocated by 2025, the Airport Central Precinct will increasingly become the focus for aeronautical operations and the design of this development will help to create a great first impression for visitors to Western Australia.”

United Group General Manager of Property, Jimmy Mouzakiotis, said United has recently embarked on a significant investment in WA that will see it substantially add to its existing network.

“The Perth Airport Project is a very exciting and significant project for Perth motorists, United Petroleum and the Airport.

“We believe it will be a land mark for all Western Australians offering a comprehensive range of services including the Australian-owned Pie Face, a large convenience store catering for Perth Airport workers and visitors, a modern environmentally responsible twin bay carwash, and commercial refuelling,” Mr Mouzakiotis said.

The development is expected to begin construction in the second quarter of this year and open in late 2020.

United Petroleum is a large privately-owned fuel retail and distribution company committed to bringing competition and value to Western Australian consumers.
