Mader Group has settled into its new offices at Perth Airport’s Alpha Building, after the airport successfully negotiated an eight-year lease with the mining services company for the 1,000sqm office space on the building’s ground level.
The airport landed the deal after initially being introduced to Mader by Collier International’s Martin Vogt.
Perth Airport Chief Property Officer Steve Holden said the lease reinforces the Perth Airport precinct as the city’s primary area for jobs growth and shows businesses are recognising the airport’s location is an attractive proposition.
“Mader’s decision is testament to the hard work of the property team at Perth Airport who secured the lease and highlighted the benefits of being close to the airport for fly-in fly-out staff, and access to the nearby Redcliffe Station which forms part of the $1.86 billion Forrestfield-Airport Link project which is scheduled to open in 2020.
“The team also worked with Mader on ensuring their key requirements were met including staff amenities, presentation, location, and rent,” Mr Holden said.
Mader Group CEO Patrick Conway said it made sense to relocate to Perth Airport.
“Perth Airport is primely positioned as the transfer hub for much of the WA mining population.
“Relocating brings the company another step closer to achieving our goal of promoting a united work front across departments, operations and regions,” Mr Conway said.
Perth Airport is a major employment centre within the Perth metropolitan area, generating around 17,000 aviation and non-aviation jobs.
“We currently have more than 150 property tenants across the estate who have chosen this location to maximise the benefits we have to offer,” Mr Holden said.
“As Australia’s Western Hub and only 12kms from the Perth CBD, Perth Airport plays a significant role in the State’s economic, social and cultural activities by facilitating travel and employment, connecting people and places, and providing support for local communities.”
The Airport West Office Park comprises a number of A grade facilities totalling 30,000m2 within a high-quality campus style setting. The office park is home to various government and non-government tenants including Rio Tinto and Byrnecut Mining.
The office precinct includes a park area, F45 gym, Ngala Child Care Centre, two coffee shops (Yahava and Republic of Coffee), and the latest generation of end of trip facilities.
In addition, the recently opened DFO and planned Costco development along with other retail developments in the pipeline are in walking distance from the office park, adding significant
amenity for the office tenants.
