Gifts for Foster Care land at Perth Airport
19 December, 2017
As part of Perth Airport’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, more than 150 staff donated gifts for children who live in foster care across Western Australia.
The gifts were donated as part of Perth Airport’s end of year staff celebration, and were presented to the Foster Care Association of WA.
“For many years we have demonstrated our deep commitment to the community through a multi-layered program of community partnerships and engagement,” said Debra Blaskett, Chief Corporate Services Officer.
Perth Airport’s Corporate Social Responsibility program directs nearly $1 million annually to more than 70 schools, not-for-profit organisations and charities. The program aims to empower the community through economic opportunity and ongoing support.
“Perth Airport is very proud of this program and I was overwhelmed with the response from staff and the spirit of supporting those who are less fortunate than ourselves,” said Ms Blaskett.
“With more than 4,000 children in State care across WA, we are hoping that our gifts will bring some joy to these children this Christmas.”
Director of the Foster Care Association of WA, Fay Alford, said Perth Airport is a good example of how private companies can engage their staff to support the community.
“We greatly appreciate the partnership with Perth Airport, and these gifts make such a difference to foster families across WA who often struggle to make ends meet.”
“All members of our community deserve to enjoy the festive season, and we know that Perth Airport’s contribution will help achieve that.”
