NEW BOOKS LAND AT REDCLIFFE PRIMARY SCHOOL

24 August, 2017
To celebrate Book Week 2017, Perth Airport has proudly continued its partnership with Dymocks Children’s Charities and provided Redcliffe Primary School with $5,000 worth of new books.

Book Week is the annual, national campaign which aims to bring children and books together to celebrate Australian’s children’s literature and a love of reading. This year, Book Week has run between 19-26 August with a theme of ‘Escape to Everywhere’.

“Perth Airport is committed to initiatives that support local communities, especially those that focus on our future generations, and we hope that these new resources will help the students at Redcliffe Primary School to develop a love of reading and a vibrant imagination” said Debra Blaskett, Chief Corporate Services Officer, Perth Airport.

Redcliffe Primary School Principal, Mark Hendon also sees the great benefits that books have on students including expanding their reading and improving writing skills.

“Book Week is a fantastic opportunity to remind us all of the magic of reading and this incredible donation has enabled us to buy new and replace old books for our library.

“Our students and teachers love dressing up for Book Week and this little bit of fun helps us to expand our imagination while we read” he continued.

Since the partnership began in 2012, Perth Airport and Dymocks Children’s Charities have donated over $50,000 worth of books to local schools which has assisted in the updating and expansion of library facilities.

Perth Airport is committed to being actively involved in the local community and information on our Community Support Program can be found at perthairport.com.au
