Perth Airport welcomes Batik Air to Australia
21 June, 2017
Perth Airport is pleased to welcome Batik Air’s first service to Australia, operating two daily flights between Perth and Denpasar from 22 June 2017.
Batik Air is a full-service carrier based in Indonesia and is part of the Lion Air Group.
The airline will operate a Boeing 737-900 on the twice-daily service between Perth and Denpasar, seating 12 business class and 168 economy class passengers.
“We are thrilled to be the first Airport to welcome Batik Air to Australia, and delighted to offer Western Australians more choice when visiting the popular holiday destination of Bali,” said Kevin Brown, Chief Executive Officer, Perth Airport.
“We know Western Australians will take advantage of a new full-service airline, and embrace Batik Air’s great fares and exceptional service,” he said.
“In addition, we’re glad to be making a positive contribution to Western Australia’s tourism industry. The number of Indonesian visitors to Perth increased by 17.8 per cent for the year ending April 2017, and it’s important that we continue to facilitate growth through greater flight options,” continued Mr Brown.
The new service will introduce an additional 5,040 seats per week between Perth and Denpasar, and provide onward connections to 31 international destinations, and access to Lion Air Group’s extended flight network.
Batik Air will depart Perth Airport at 8.30am and 6.20pm, and arrive into Perth at 12.20am and 4.35pm every day.
Perth Airport is committed to supporting Western Australian tourism through increased services, and establishing new airline partnerships that encourage growth in visitor numbers to Perth and Western Australia.
