Perth Airport lands second Emirates A380 Service
01 August, 2016
Perth Airport welcomed its second daily A380 service this morning with the arrival of Emirates flight EK424 from Dubai at 12.50am.
Emirates’ second A380 Perth service will operate daily on the EK425 morning Perth to Dubai service and the return EK424 flight, replacing the current morning B777-300ER service.
“The introduction of a second daily A380 service on the Perth-Dubai route has reaffirmed Emirates’ commitment to Western Australia as a destination, and means that more than 14,000 passengers can now fly between Perth and Dubai each week,” said Kevin Brown, Chief Executive Officer, Perth Airport.
“The Emirates network includes over 150 destinations across six continents, opening up more opportunities for Western Australians to enjoy some fantastic global holiday destinations,” said Mr Brown.
Emirates are continuing to grow their A380 fleet, which means passengers can now fly to over 40 global destinations from Perth in their flagship aircraft.
“To improve the customer experience for Emirates passengers, the expanded International Departures lounge includes the newly opened Hudson Coffee and JR Duty Free store, and allows direct access to the Business and First Class Lounge which is situated next to the A380 gate,” said Mr Brown.
“Our new International Departures lounge has the capacity to accommodate passengers departing on two A380 aircraft at the same time, so we look forward to working with airlines to deliver more services to Perth Airport in the coming years,” said Mr Brown.
EK424 departs Dubai at 10.10am, arriving in Perth at 12.50am the next day. EK425 departs Perth at 6.00am, arriving in Dubai at 1.00pm on the same day.
Perth Airport is committed to supporting Western Australian tourism through increased services and establishing new and improved airline partnerships that encourage growth in visitor numbers to Perth and Western Australia.
